My primary goal as an artist is to prompt people to reconsider and become aware of common thoughts and behaviors through art. As an artist, I’m interested in human conditions and characteristics in my surroundings. Through this, I seek to understand the diversity of society and culture and express them through my artwork. I aim to broaden people’s understanding and examine social issues through art, as well as to pose deep questions about human nature.
My work stems from communication and observation with people. I observe people’s traits and behaviors and draw inspiration from their everyday experiences. I pay attention to habits, language, actions, and words that people unconsciously exhibit and express them through sculpture. I strive to grasp people’s characteristics and explore the meanings inherent in their expressions and actions. When multiple people exhibit similar behaviors, speech, or use specific words, I take notice and seek to understand the meanings and messages within. The main goal understand things they often overlook in their daily lives. I prompt viewers to focus on my artwork, feel intrigued, and reflect on their experiences and thoughts.
To achieve this, I have found sculpture to be a highly effective method to engage viewers in the artwork and convey various visual and sensory experience to them. By prompting viewers to reconsider things easily overlooked and realize the meanings and messages they carry, I hope my work encourages viewers to reflect on their experience and thoughts, wishing they had deeper significance. Through this, viewers can think more deeply about their lives and social environments and gain a new perspecive.
